WOW! OLYMPICS 2012 In 1982 Chelsea Fine art alumnus Kevin Whitney was appointed by The British Olympic Association to become the first official Olympic Artist for any country in the history of the modern olympics. He supports many charities for children, and is heavily behind the paralympics. The Upstairs Gallery is working with Schools, partnerships, charity, health projects and is yet to be sponsored or funded. We are seeking sponsorship and funding to assist and aid many of our artists, and would really like your help with this. Here at the Upstairs Gallery we are working hard to join forces creating a greener Suffolk. We are re-evaluating how we use our energy and ensuring we reduce our energy consumption. We are also working closer to our suppliers, ensuring we ask about greener issues first, such as recyclable cartridges, papers and expendables. What has been happening this week – with gallery manager Michelle Payne. This week has been a hard task master. Lots of interest in the Doug Farthing exhibition, and a rather full gallery as it has been half term, so many more visitors through those doors.
